I've just done an insurance quote and its still registered as a 1.3  :undecided: so what do i do???????? check for receipts for the work carried out???? will the insurance be loads more because its an engine modification rather than just a normal 1.8 8v gti car????????

not 100% sure but

1, is the engine STOLEN - it can happen - does it have a number on it

2, will it need a Vehicle check before you can re-register it

can of worms springs to mind when you can get a Original GTI for the same or less cash

plus not only may insurance be hard to get, if he's cut a huge corner on the engine which isn't exactly a minor slip up, what else is the rest of the car going to be like be very careful and check everything out thoroughly!

Weather its registered as a 1.3, or a 1.8, thats a lorra lorra cash for a hibrid thats not registered correctly. You could get yourself a near mint 16 valve for that if you were prepared to wait for the right car.
Personally, I would walk away saying its not what you are looking for.
