i think thats what there called? you know the type that you can get in many differant sizes and you tighten up with a screw driver? lol

i've looked at all my local motor shops and halfords and all they seem to sell is the galvanised crap

my bay would look pretty good with a full set of these!!

chrome ones, generally have been chromed by the owner... easier to buy stainless steel ones online or something.

Hello my name is Matt i am the owner of lmr liquidmetalrefinement.co.uk if you have had a problem you should contact us immediatly as people know we are massive vw fans and know how important your car is to you that is why we try and help as best as we possibly can.
Chrome that we sell is triple chrome plate and is the same as all chrome platers. it is tough and durable if looked after correctly.
So you should not have had any problems. the chrome parts on my mk2 have been on it for 8 years and still looks as fresh as the day i did it!

i also bought the items along to you at ultimate dubs in '07 and was told that the guy who i had spoken to when i originally complained didn't work for you anymore (chris maybe?). i was then told that there was nothing you could do about it. i'm not quite sure how me having parts supplied by you, once chromed, now rusty is the problem of someone who used to work for you and that you wouldn't exchange them?

i have no specific photo's of the parts done by your company but the parts done locally lasted, yours didn't. i know you guys are VW entheusiasts, which was why i was so disappointed by the response i got when i spoke to you at UD. your attitude was basically that it was tough luck.

Hello many thanks for the reply yes we did have a guy called chris work for us but he only did wheel polishing and had nothing to do with the plating.
As you can appreciate i speak to alot of people at the shows, And it is hard to remember later on after the show what was said and who spoke with me.
As it was some time ago i will be honest and say i cannot remember.

Buti am more than willing to help.

I fail to see how our parts would go rusty over some one elses parts all plating companys use very similar methods and probably all buy our chemicals from the same suppliers.
Really the only factor that can affect it is prep work, the parts must be fully stripped on any original coatings and plate such as inc or paint ect.. the parts must be fully polished prior to plating.
We are a mirror polishing specialist and can propbably say our polishing work is better than most commercial plating firms.

Have you had the other companys parts on the car for the same time you had our parts on the car,
Has the car been cleaned in the same time scales and manner as when our parts were on the car, has it been driven the same these are all worth concidering.

However, like i said before i am a vw nut and i want all my customers to be happy because if it was my car and my money i would fell the same.

So please let me know a list of the parts you brought from us
please let me know how you brought the items e.g ebay, website, show, ect ect,,
please let me know when you brought the items
please let me know how you paid.


I can then check it against our records and then we can offer to redo them.

hi, thanks for the response.

to be honest it was so long ago (they had obviously been bought, fitted, driven etc before ultimate dubs in '07) that i can't remember all the parts but chances are i bought them off ebay as i remember you having alot of bits on there around that time. i would have paid by paypal. also i bought the parts with me (to UD), assuming they would be able to be exchanged as they were parts you commonly had on display. plus in all fairness it wasn't you i spoke to, it was the lady with glasses.

i also don't see how one chromer can differ so much from another, but i wouldn't have raised the issue had there not been a problem. all parts were fitted at a similar time and mostly in the engine bay. i was a cleaning freak and used to clean the engine as much as the exterior. the car was only used for shows/the odd weekend blast and rarely at all in winter. i do live near the sea so expect a certain amount of corrosion due to the extra salty air, but whenever the car was laid up i would coat the engine in a sticky oil to stave off corrosion. i couldn't tell you why, but like i said, some of your parts rusted badly, whereas the parts shown above didn't.

ultimately the car was sold months ago so no longer a problem. i just thought i'd clarify what the initial issue i had was, which as you may or may not agree, made me say "lmr suck"!
