....It looks like the Big Daddy, or is it Mother Fecker, of air intakes. gruppeM have a major reputation in the BMW world, so I would expect them to be good. BUT....You pay a premium for all that carbonfibre eye-candy!

It's generally reckoned that the filter is all important. I'm running a Carbonio with ITG Pro panel filter, so it's probably as good as a Carbonio can get. However, I wouldn't like to say how it compares with the gruppeM and would expect the gruppeM to contribute more to performance - It should do at the price!!

im sorry but ive tried many different filters in different cars and none make a much noticable difference, i believe they help the engine with more air and its "better" for the engine but you really wont see much difference in performance, between carbonio and gruppM i guess if you had a gti and RR'd it the difference between the two would be very very minimal if at all, thats my opinion anyways

....I think you are largely right, Joe - Not big differences if at all, but all much better than stock. Air Intakes is always a subject which ends up in huge debate.

Your right RR gruppe M have a very good rep with the beemers. The intake looks like a very good quality bit of kit, but even if its the best on the market you wont see big gains, maybe you would see more if you had ported head etc as the engine will flow more air.
Im running an itg panel filter with the stock airbox, think thats as far as im going with the intake.
Would rather spend money on things that will make a difference.

Golf gti ed30, tornado red, itg panel filter, revo stg 2, team dynamics gloss black wheels, turbo back milltek, ecs dogbone mount, leon cupra brakes. s3 intercooler ordered.
