Is Your Golf Allergic To Puddles?!?!?
« on: 03 September 2008, 12:01 »
After a massive faf with the stupid crank speed sensor thing, my cars been running great for 9 days, On the way to the gym this morning and i drove through quite a big puddle (had to slow down for it)

anyway on the motorway 4 miles up the road the car started spluttering and loosing power trying to cut out, - OH NO NOT AGAIN

kept rolling anyway and made it the gym, turned the engine off and tried to start it again and it didnt,

so went in the gym, came out 60 mins later and it started fine and i drove all the way to work. unless iv still got electrical problems maybe it was the water?

My car is allergic to any kind of water lol

Drove through a puddle once, was going slow as it was just after some lights and throught a narrow tunnel, next thing I know it's cutting out out me :@

That's the whole reason I had to get a new throttle body etc :(

My car has been having problems with rain all night and not starting in the mornings. This was going on for a few weeks. Any water getting in and it hates it. After a good drive it was fine tho started first time. I changed my dizzy cap, rotor arm and checked my leads but i was still a little dodgy. I noticed a crack in my coilpack but it didnt seem bad. Went through a car wash the other day and she wouldn't dtart at the other end. Got rac man out and he looked at the coilpack. Luckily he had one on him so we changed it and now its sweet.

Check n see if there are any cracks or rust anywhere on your coilpack fella

WD40 is your friend :) drives the water out of the lectrickery bits. Was a life saver on the mini so many times, in the end I put a rubber glove over the dizzy with the leads poking through the fingers :)

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

replacing the pas belt yearly solves any wet weather steering issues (mine dosent have any splash gaurds fitted but steers fine when wet and thats due to a new belt for £4 every service)
