anyway i can easily fit a back box for a GOLF MK2 1.8 16v onto my 1.6 8v?

cos i was told u cant put 16v back boxes onto 8vs....

but im sure u can

also are back boxes normaly direct slot in replacements or is there sum cutting and welding invloved?

They'll just slip over same as usual, then you just need something to seal it and a exhaust clamp etc ...

Not sure if a 16v will fit though as the diameter of pipe used on the 16v is larger than the 8v GTi, so probably larger again than your 1.6 I'm afraid.

right ive got my back box now here is the problem!

my original back box goes all the way to half way of the car. It does not slot into another piece at the back. This means that my back box i have just bought has no where to go as it will be to short!

this shows what i mean:



Can i simply get the middle box as shown on the gti and use that with my back box to get it to fit?

If so please someone who is stripping a car or sumthing tell me how much they want for it. i need to get this back box on!!!
