ported throttle body..

is it worth porting the throttle body on my abf engine?. i am thinking about giving it a go today as long as its worth the effort..lol ..
are there many benifits?.

Mk3 Golf Gti:Full Milltek system and Decat,K&N filter,mk2 Cam,-1.5 degree camber shims, borbet a's, toyo proxies,hot tuning coils, brembo vented discs, greenstuff pads...Soon to have Eaton Power

mk3 16v 5dr Gti,mintex extreme pads,drilled/grooved discs,lowered,cat back powerflow system,omp panel filter with modified airbox,debadged grill, started prep for spraying, lots to come :D

They do an 8v version, I'm sure when I contacted them they would do a 16v one as well.

Depends on whether you want to do it yourself.

Does that £45 mean you post them your TB and they do it? Or do they give you a throttle body ported? Or do you swap? or what :S

Its not very clear. lol. Or am i stupid? Either way i have an AGG engine, not ADY.

looks like you pay £45 then another £45  as a deposit then when you send yours back you get £45 back

so £90 up front........

I ported my TB and my car does pick up and pull well for an 8v.
Dont think you would really notice unless you have modded the rest of the intake and filter set up zaust etc etc.
Best when done as well as the head
I ported the head on my MK2 8v and defo thought that was worth it. 45 quid is a good price if you aint got the tools, but how much is a dremmel these days?
i could do it at work in a few hours with carbide burrs and diamond DX wheels
so its a saturday job really :smiley:
