help plz

Got a mk1 golf gti convertible 1800 8v on a d-plate.
changed the fuel filter and fuel pump. but now the car doesnt want to start. it ticks over fine but fuel doesnt seem to be getting through.
someone told meto change the fuel accumulater would that help?

It can take a while for the fuel system to bleed,
(k jet ).
You can help it a bit by lifting the fuel metering unit flap up and sticking a piece of card under it to hold it up a little, wind the engine over until it fires and then remove the card and rebuild. It will start like its flooded (foot to the floor and wind until it fires up).
