Which type of Dunlop are they - because I referred to the SportMaxx, which are know to be problematic.  Yours look a different tread pattern though.

I'd still say they are underinflated, because both shoulders are showing excessive wear.  Do you tend to turn the steering wheel whilst the car is stationary, because that can also cause agravated wear on the shoulders?

Since starting topic, car has covered about 500miles on the part worn Conti2 tyres.
Like Dunlops, they to show a little sign of inside tyre edge wear.
After exchange of EM's with the 'Doc', took car in for a 4 wheel geometry check. Guy (who sorted my BMW when other so called experts could not) said GTi normally run a little neg.
On the rig it showed front alignment out by 0.5 deg, and one back wheel was off a little to. Not a lot, but worth it for peace of mind.
All sorted now for £58 incl VAT.

Will keep an eye on things for the next few months.
