Hi people!...Need help with my golf gti!...never has a car given me so much grief..i'v had nearly everything changed! new engine etc..but it such a wicked car!  lol!...ok well i keep getting a engine turning over problem!..some times the car turns over sometimes it does'nt?!..so like when in the morning the car will start...but give it 30 minutes on the road i fill up 4 petrol and it will stop starting! mainly when the engines hot!...Now im totally clued about wat 2do!..i'v dropped it at the local garage and the guys totally confused wat the issue may be..even had the crank senor lead changed cos he thought it was that!...and some times the oil light flash's..and the handbrake light does'nt turn off!..ahhhh..if it wasnt anniversay i wuda scrapped the car...im new to golfs so i dnt no much!..my first golf!...thinking maybe the last aswell.... ....HELP NE 1!!!..

have you tried the relays, sounds like the symptoms of that "problem". Most people seem to have the cutting out problem on here. I dont know much about it, but i think it is relay 30. search around the mk3 forum for the topic about changing relays. I think the hall sensor could be the problem too, but not sure.

Could be relays but first thing would be to get it checked on a VAGCOM really to see if there are any fault codes.

Don't give up, it's probably something simple!

thanks matey..ill try it..all i read about is everything about changing the relay..is it just one lead!?...like the ecu relay!? is it str8 4ward to fit!? would i be able to fit it myself?..spend thousands on the car as it is so need 2 do it cheap nw!...Cheers. Tarun

Relay? like unplugging a plug - dead easy 

But like has already been suggested, see if you can get the fault codes read for starters - this might give you some pointers

Thanks Mate!..I went to a golf showroom the guy gave me a 3o relay plug thing! lol..so waiting on that 2 c if theres any differance!...also VAGCOM!? ne 1 mind explain 2 me how the hell i do that?!...i know you can buy the lead 4om ebay!..where do i get the program 2 download! also do u need 2 com port on ur computer or is it straight usb!?..Cheers Tarun
