....Leggings? Did you say you wear leggings?      I love leggings on girlies!! [goes off to find his special folder of pics of hot girls in leggings]

Purpley Plum.....Metallic at all? Matching that glorious colour I've seen on a Corrado? [quickly bringing the subject back to VDubs]

Purpley Plum subtle streaks in Brunette could be cool. Waaaay off topic here.

RR now off to bash his bishop!

Golfgirl drives an ED30

Did someone say me name?

I am a female enthusiast.  At the moment my car is standard but I do have future modification plans.  Before my Edition 30 I owned a highly modified Mk 4 R32 which I took on track days and to the Nurburgring.  I even assisted the other half in doing some of the modifications myself....such as fitting the sports cats and I also fitted the K&N Typhoon myself with a bit of guidance.  Before the R32 I had a Mk 3 GTI 16v and that was modified too. I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty or breaking a nail, and TBH I actually enjoy it and prefer to help with fitting stuff as it helps me understand cars a bit more.  Some people assume my boyfriend has an influence on me but that is so wrong - everything I have done to my cars has been my choice.  He's not liked everything I've done but it's my car and my money so I'll spend it how I wish

I know more than the average chick about cars, and also know more than a lot of blokes at work and sometimes I can have a conversation about cars and the blokes admit that I'm rambling on about something they don't understand

I'm not your typical female driver either....I don't kerb my wheels every time I park, I drive "enthusiastically" and don't just use the car for shopping.  My car is my hobby, I look after it and hate getting it dirty.

I've not had it with this car yet, but when I owned the R32 most people assumed it was my boyfriends.  When I corrected them they were surprised.  They asked what R32 meant, and asked if it was like a GTI.  When I went into the ins & outs of it they looked a bit sheepish that a girl actually a) had a decent car, b) knew what she was talking about, c) corrected them in their assumption that it was my boyfriends and d) realised that they thought they knew something about Golfs but didn't know what an R32 was.

Its always a welcome to sight to see a nice girl driving a nice car and looking as if they know what they're doing, rather than driving a big/fast/nice car but then knowing nothing of its performance and pedigree only being concerned with image. Usually Merc CLK/SLK conv drivers in my experience! Equally i have little to no time for blokes that don't have some sort of basic interest/appreciation for cars on a general level!

It's girlies like you who are the most welcome among us car freaks and it's not a competition but merely a shared enthusiasm :afro:
