i would buy a cat d, mine is one ;)

at least if its a cat d you know its been repaired & recorded properly

how many cars on the road are write-off's but never have been recorded as, but are still put back on the road

your hardly gonna be looking big money for it when you go to resell it - you got it cheap so you'll sell it cheap - anybody who knows about cars will be willing to take a look

and also with it being a 2000 its not gonna be hard to track previous owners to find out what happened to it

cat d wouldnt put me of a car - it'd be worse if i paid full price for it to find out later that it was a cat d

If its cheap then do it. It does'nt bother me if a repair has been done properly. As long as it is safe, then you have no worries.

Mate of mine bought a vr6 which was a cat d and although it needed some attention so long as you know somebody who can fix it on the cheap it was mint. He only sold it in the end as it was costing too much in fuel!  ;)
