Warranty work
« on: 29 August 2008, 11:05 »
Hi, I'm about to book my car into the dealer to try and get some dreaded rattles sorted out. Was just wondering if you'd recommend always taking the car to the dealer it was bought from? I just feel where I bought the car from are more likely to botch the car up than another dealer nearby but at the same time feel like I'll be taking the piss asking for a courtesy car etc and them to sort it out when I went elsewhere for business. Any thoughts?

well in all honesty i dont think it matters as long as they are an approved VW dealer, i bought mine from a VW dealership in Merthyr and it gets serviced and all the other little mk5 niggles sorted in Swansea VW. both were equally good!

agreed - i don't think think it matters. mines an import and my local dealer in Reading is more than happy to fix some small warranty bits and have done very good work.

....You can take your car to any approved VW dealer you like. Remember that you are the customer and that they need to work at standards worthy of their VW franchise. :afro:

....What'll happen if I do my usual thing and post a large pic of a hot girlie so your workmates spot it? Or better still, a YouTube vid with loud sound - I've got just the one! It has a great sound track!

A VW dealer is always happy to deal with warranty issues as in the current economic climate it becomes their bread and butter. So don't worry about it and go to a dealer you feel you can trust

Oh, and I'm at home - bed rest for 48hrs after a minor stomach op  Feel rather sh!tty and this place always helps
