Hey peeps, been trolling the forums for the past month or so for answers but can't seem to find anything.
Right so where do I start, had a new regulator put in to my rear passenger door (Gti Mk3 2ltr) and all was fine then one morning all the windows were down. Thought it could have been when I locked the car (they used to go down when I held the key methinks) so went to work, locked car, windows up, got back, windows down. Then they all seemed ok, got in car about a week later, window with new regulator in went down halfway then back up. Did the same the next day but then just went up and down whilst driving for a few days. Then again seemed to sort itself out, got back to work one day with all the windows down, this time I couldn't put them up. I locked the car and held the key and the all went up except for the one with the new regulator, so got home and disconnected and the reconnected it to get the window up, then I disconnected it to hopefully stop the darn windows coming down (I'd associated the problems with this new regulator as the windows worked ok (you had to bring the window up in stages)). Then again all the windows were down excluding disconnected one.
I checked the windows the other day and everything still the same (can go down but not up) however, saying that they haven't all dropped on their own for a while, this could be with me not using the car as much? When I put them back up the other rear window went clunk as it got to the top, now this is loose and can just be pushed up or down, motor still will drop it down though. Is this the white clip thing I've read on here.
Also when we had the panels off on the door which had the new regulator. If the window was down and you disconnected and then reconnected the cable, you could put the window up. Like it's only beaing allowed to do one action.
I'm trying not to fork out loads of money if there is an easy simple solution which I could do myself.
ECU? Relay? Any help appreciated.
