Cass - my heads a bit fuzzy at the mo - so the GTI is definately going?  :undecided:

If so, and you do get a Tiguan, then you'll still be more than welcome here.  Not only because it's a dub, but more importantly/nerdily, the Tiguan runs on the Golf Mk5 platform and running gear, with identical engines/transmissions/suspension layouts, etc.  It also uses the same Haldex "4motion" 4wd system as the R32, and has an interior vertually identical to the Golf Plus - so we should all still be useful to ya!

Ive just chopped in the GTI for a tig, loved the GTI - Hated not being able to use its potential on the daily M6 grind.

I have a standard spec SE, 140 tdi and in a very different way, enjoy driving it as much as the gti.

Cheers paul - looks like a goos site with like minded enthusiasts. Hope you are enjoying Tiguan ownership.

For me. I have decided to keep the GTI - in fact the wife has insisted I keep it :smug:

I was offered a silly part-ex price against a new Tiguan by my VW dealer and having placed a private advert on Pistonheads, I cancelled it after 3 days of emotional turmoil. My car has £5k of extras and I'm thinking i would be mad to sell it on and take such a hit after 2 years of ownership and less than 11k miles.

As a treat, I'm having the car professionally detailed, including paintwork correction and upgrading the factory MFD2 DVD Sat Nav to the RNS 510 unit - just emailed Czech Tommy to confirm availability and price. Also just got the OEM Bluetooth kit from Stu to fit

I'll be staying around the forum then

Should have considered part-ex for a boat given the floods in the North yesterday
