Paddle Shiffters
« on: 27 August 2008, 12:41 »
Has anyone fitted the Carbon/Aluminium Paddle Shiffters from The TT Shop to the multi function steering wheel of a Gti/Ed30? I think the steering wheel may be the same in the Audi, fitting them with 3M tape cant be great though!

Edition 30, Brembo GT brake kit, Revo stage2+ 334 Bhp, Full Milltek Hi-Flo exhaust, Forge Twintake, Forge silicone hoses, Forge 'TWINtercooler', Forge DV valve, KW Variant 1 suspension, H&R anti-roll bars, Powerflex engine mounts, Quaife ATB Diff, OSIR Carbon.

....I investigated extended paddle shifters with TTS over a year ago and the Audi ones don't fit IIRC. Now I'm so used to the stock ones, I doubt very much I would change them - Their feel being ribbed and shaped is very tactile and their operation feels strong and direct, not bendy.

Thanks, I am looking at ways to try and extend my paddle shift as my right hand is braking or accelerating using the hand controls and unless the wheel is in the straight ahead position I cant reach the up shift button. A friend has had the shifters transfered to two buttons on his race wheel, I thought this may also work on my Up/Down volume buttons.

HI Neil M
i haven't fitted them but a few people have in america and especially Australia have and from what i have read the sticky tape has been more than adequite for this use which was suprising to me, the quality of the glue used  on tape nowaday's has improved rapidly the last couple of years.

....Hi Neil, I've just been chatting to Dave @ TTshop (about other stuff) and I hadn't realised your needs - I couldn't quite understand your driving style as posted!

He tells me that they have now sourced Ali and CF paddle extenders and you had the carbon ones. Any chance of any pics please, although I'm hoping to be up at TTshop soon.

:afro: Cheers,
Robin

Hi Robin, Dave said he knew you and Hurdy well, was passing Bedford and popped in the TT shop for the first time nice bloke and nice shop. Unfortunately I'm a bit thick around this stuff and keep getting told 'not an AVATAR or to large' when trying to put a picture in my details! How do you put photos on?
