tyre question???

i have 195 50 15 on my standard gti wheels (dunno how wide they are 15x6?)... my question is im looking to get some alloy wheels that are 7x15 can i use the tyres i have on my standard alloys and stretch them as the tyres are brand new?

195/50 on a 7 inch aint no stretch. I'm have 195/45 on an 8 inch and it's only a slight stretch.
......now officially dubless.

Nah not a stretch at all, it'll all be good, depending on the offset of the new wheels of course!!!

So what size were standard GTI tyres (16v if it makes a difference)?  Are they meant to be 195/50/15?  We've currently got 205/50/15, and I was a little dissapointed to see my fav brand, the Eagle F1, was not in 205 fitment (well, not that I could find on Black Circles or MyTyres).

If standard is 195, I'll be a very happy boy..  Back to standard and 195/50/15 for £38.46 on blackcircles  :smiley:
