aftermarket brake pads

[No Golf Clubs at all]

Hi all,

I seriously want to get Revo'd up soon, but during the 5-hour trial I realised that I would benefit by upgrading the brakes too.   

I dont want to spend £1700 on a big brake kit, has anyone any experience of fitting aftermarket pads such as EBC or Ferodo? Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?

I went to Drivers in Glasgow they offerred on EBC (I think) are EBC any good?

I have heard the Ferodo DS2500 where very good but don't come with the wear sensor like the OEM pads, as for the EBC I believe they only do the yellow stuff version for the MK5 but haven't seen any reviews on these as yet.

I have the yellow stuff fitted up front, and Ferodo pads on the rear. They squeal like mad unfortunately, especially at low speeds. Upshot is better pedal feel and retardation when 'pressing on' LOL!
Oh and I've noticed the yellow stuff produce very little dust, compared to the Ferodos.

Are you still running the standard disc's Sixpot?

....True - No pad wear sensor but easy to check visually (at least they are easy to check on my AP calipers, dunno about stock). Safer to check it visually probably.

I went for zerosixty discs and tarox strada pads and now much better.I think a good mod if on a budget(discs were around £250 f/r and pads £150 f/r)
