Top part of side skirts?
« on: 24 August 2008, 21:22 »
Hi all,

First post, and it's question time from me :undecided:  I've had a look through and used a bit of the old search, and can't find what I need.

We picked up a 5 door 16v jobbie on Friday.  It was meant as a cheap run about, but we totally love it!  It's either going to get a bit of money spent to make it more presentable, or it'll be sold to get a lower mile minter!

First thing I can't handle is the side skirts.  It looks to me as if they're in sections, with a clip on section on the top part.  Is this the case?  If so, all top parts are missing!  Where is best to get some?  I've had a look in the classifieds on here, and had a little route through e-bay.  There seems to be a load of spare parts, but not these..

You can get them from the dealers, i think they are about 20 odd quid a side. They were 16 when i last bought them, but that was 3 years ago

Is this what's referred to as a 'sill cover' then?  That kind of search brings back the lookwood type of sill plate..

I would actually prefer a couple of used ones, a bit wary that new they'll stand out too much!!

I got new ones recently (around £23 from dealers), my other plastics were grey so all i've done is treat them with kiwi boot polish and it now looks ace (they don't stand out at all).

You will be very lucky to find decent second hand ones and if you do the postage will be high - get new!!!

Will do!  I guess they'll all come up smart with a bit of Black WOW too.

I'll have to get a few pics up soon, you guys will be able to spot all the other things that are wrong with it..
