Especially not to one that Best In Show was won by a car with f*cking chromed discs on it last year.

Now I don't know whether anyone on here saw Panorama about dog breeds last week, but E38 and it's show cars are to the car world what Crufts is to the dog breeding world - described by the RSPCA's chief vet as a 'parade of mutants'.  And that's just the owners.

Given that the humour quotient on E38 is generally used up within the first 30 minutes of each month I should probably start checking for letter bombs again......

I did see the crufts documentary. interesting comparison, but having not been to a show before, is one i cannot really comment on.

Have to agree with the shows.
The shows are interesting but some are just are like they tried soo hard to get into pvw or something. Chromed disks are gay but i doubt the owner drove it like that. The detail some go into is amazing.


Shame about the bad attitude on the forum. mainly from the mods. I was banned for saying that too.

Ever tried the technical section on that forum? Dont bother!

not fixed yet, cant get a the part until wedneday at the earliest.

Could be do able in time, Assuming i actually fix something first time.
Cant compain, I've recieved a lot of help from this forum as to whats wrong with it.

Don't understand "Concours" myself - cars are built to be driven. Chrome discs? Stupid. It's like cleaning your tailpipe with a toothbrush - a bit pointless.

Just as an aside, why E38? (I'm fairly new to the VW scene)

I personally polished my peashooter exhaust on my mk2 up for VW Festival on the outside and about 2 inches into the inside, because it looked good.. Fully aware that after a few more hundred miles it might be back to black again. So I see nothing wrong with cleaning the inside. If I do it fully once, then I can spend 2-3 minutes every time I clean the car just topping it up, so to speak.

And with regards to the shows being as you described..  You'll alyways get people that do things like chromed discs (which I'm guessing was not driven on and was swapped at the show.. Otherwise it'd wreck the finish of the chrome! Do you not think every car scene in the world is the same though? There'll always people that want to go over the top and push the boundries to create how they want their car to look so I think leave them be.

Fair enough if you'd rather not be at a show.. It's like the people who grumble "VW Internet forums? What a waste of time, they could be using that time to work on their cars!"
