Great write up - nice car but I dont think I would have one to replace the Golf, the Mrs on the other hand  :wink:

No gas strut for the bonnet - I know the Mk2 Leon doesnt have on but on a VW ...

....Snoopy just told me that it's probably to do with new pedestrian crash safety regulations. Very OTT it seems to me - I'd love to see the crash dummy evidence that supports that rule.

Its the same platform as the 5 so the mounting points will be the same. I imagine you will have to de-activate the gimmick comfort/sport suspension option in the ECU to stop fault codes being thrown up. Doubt its any more complex than that.

I was thinking that, if they bring out a 4 wheel drive version it will be rivaling the X6 as all-terrain champ  :smug:
