Re-setting ECU to adapt to BP102

I have VAGCOM, and I believe there are some things that can be reset in the ECU to adapt immediately. Can anyone confirm this, or would it be a case of just disconnecting the battery like on the old 1.8T's?

Bought 21 litres of BP102 today at £2.42 a litre to see if it actually is "all that", and would like to make the most of it so to speak.

think its just a case of driving and letting the ecu adapt to it

can you not just increase the timing?

afaik your ecu will still need to adapt regardless of you resetting it.

some say turning on the ignition then flooring the accelerator pedal for 10-15 seconds till all the noises under the bonnet cease resets the ecu but haven't tried this myself.

As far as I understand it you can 'force' a new adaption by clearing a fault code in Controller 01 Engine.

Stu will his car have a "fault" code if there is no problem with the engine controller?

Could you elaborate on what needs to be done?

You can introduce a fault code by unplugging the MAF and then turning the ignition on, no need to start the engine.

....According to Revo, you can reset the DSG's learning with vagcom.
