depedns exactly how much is included for £300, if like EVERYTHINBG inside the bay came with it then I'd say maybe yeah, but if not then rippoff.  I got a complete 2e lump with all anxileries for £40

Hmm well it says "INCLUDING ALL ANCILLARIES, STARTER MOTOR, ALTERNATOR ETC" but is £300 still too much for all that? I havent got a clue how much that would all be if I just went to the brakers yard.

I would say so tbh, I sold the engine again for £250 with pretty much everything from the entire engine bay.  Plus arguably all the effort to convert it isnt going to be worth it at the end of the day as you'll end up with 115bhp compared to 150 on the valver.

I think you'd be better off buying a rot box with a decent engine and then swapping everything over - you'll probably pick one up for the same amount as that £300 lump.  Then you can take everything you need off the scrapper, and maybe sell some bits too

Good idea. Thanks for the advice guys.

One more question though  I really want to change the steering wheel but because ive got an airbag, I dont know if there's any extra wiring that needs to be removed before I fit a new one. I know Im losing a bit of safety by doing this, but for the past month or so, my airbag warning light has been on so not even sure if it works!

only thing you need to do is get a resistor or summat to turn the light off, since yours is on anyway not really any loss!

there are 2 allen screws on the back to release the airbag, then a 24mm nut in the middle to release the wheel.  tip for you, undo the nut but leave it threaded on at the end of the column, then yank the wheel to release it.  this saves it flying off and smaking you in the face!
