Hmmm, is your Golf one of the last Mk4's to be made??  I have a 1.8 T GTI (2001 150bhp) and mine does not give miles till empty, it just says PLEASE REFUEL.  I belive that once this comes up if driven about 35-40mpg (which is a challenge but manageable) you should get about 30-35 miles out of the tank...any ideas???

if you got Immob III clocks it can be enabled

late 2001?

only way to be sure is to check your part number by removing the clocks or using VAG COM and log into 17 - Instruments - IIRC if it ends with a 6 its Immob III

My 'Miles To Empty' were enabled with Vag Com, just find someone local with Vag Com to see if you can have 'Miles To Empty'

its NOT VAG COM - its only done with VAG TACHO as you have to read and rewrite the clocks EEPROM
