i have an 88 gti on an e plate, i want a late model mk2 8v instead and the car i have has more tin worm than i thought. just a quick question to everyone really, i have been told i could get up to £150 to weigh the car in but if i strip all the good bits off it, its got good rainbow seats, all the trim, glass, bumpers, front splitter, grille etc, will i still get the same value or will i get f**k all?

only asking as i spent quite a bit of wedge on my motor and id like to get as much back as i could.

would there be any intrest in any bits off it? i also have a set of mim type wheels which need tyres and a refurb if anyone fancies them.

it's the metal they're after really so strip all the sellable bits and fill the tank with water then weigh it in

also they hate tyres and ive heard reduce the price if they have to dispose of them.

i was speaking to some scrap merchants around here and apparently the price of scrap steel has dropped by half what it was a month ago. i got offered max of £60 for my old project golf.

skrap metal has dropped mate you will neva get 150 for a mk2

You should get a decent amount for the rainbow seats if they are good, what's the drivers seat like??

drivers and passengers seats are vgc, the rear bench has a white mark on it? i think if someone was to give them an aquavac they would come up minty mint, i also have a good parcel shelf with no holes. not really arsed about the scrap if i can make on the bits
