Im a bit of a VW virgin really, Had a Mk2 8v GTi when I was 19 (30 next week.....
) It was a kind of crystal green 5 door with a Gti international big bumper body kit, 60mm lowered all round on a set of OZ 5 spokes. Pimptastic eh......
It turned out to be a bit of a nail to be honest, but my mum loved it and bought a 1.8GL Auto which she still owns to this very day!
I have since owned (briefly) 2 other mk2's a 1.8 Auto which I bought off ebay for £77 with 10mth Mot! And another 8V Gti that was also an ebay bargain £45! I only bought that to break, sold the Pirelli rims for £120, lost interest in the car and flogged it for 99p on ebay again!!
Im now the proud (?) owner of a mk3 Tdi which I found on......... ebay...... Its not the fastest car I've owned but Im well impressed by it, Full leather, heated front seats, 1 prev owner full VAG S/H. And best of all 52MPG!
I told myself I wouldnt mod it as its my daily Hack......... But I couldnt resist - My Ronal Turbo rims turned up today, before I fit them it needs lowering - lots!
Any way, Im probably boring you all now. Great forum and I look forward to stealing all of your technical know how
