I thought the whooshing noise was normal? I have noticed it more since I got my Revo Stage 1 a few weeks ago and was advised by the Revo dealer that I the car was not making full boost and this was more than likely down to the DV valve. I purchased the new 'G' valve from the dealer and I am getting it fitted today so hopefully when I take it to JKM on Friday the will tell me I am getting full boost. I will take some pics of the old valve and post them here later.

On the same note, I have noticed that since Revo Stage 1 between 3000-4000 RPM I am getting a whining noise, I think it’s the turbo or might even be the DV valve on its way out. Any one else had this?

You can buy directly from Forge or via the network of dealers.

You need to remove the existing Diverter from the turbo housing and fit the forge one, then run the vacuum source to the forge valve.

In true Haynes fashion probably 2 out of 5 spanners for difficulty depending of course on your abilities.

The GTI I am about to buy has a swoosh noise under acceleration - is this normal? It has been remapped.  My remapped GT TDI has the owl noise and this is normal from the turbo. I assumed when I test drove the GTI the swoosh noise didnt mean anything wrong......but mentioned earlier dubaiphil thinks his dv valve is on the way out..could this be the case with the GTI I am about to buy? It has just been serviced as well so I assume all should be well.

DV's fail even on stock cars, the later revisions have helped and the G version seems to be much better.
