Im Picking Up my GTI in 7 Hours!!!
« on: 11 August 2008, 11:40 »
I finally bought a GTI on Saturday. I have been after an Edition 30 DSG 5 Door for aaaages but have been having no luck, unless I travel 250 miles and the ones I have seen couldn't do me a good finance deal anyway.

Anyway, decided to just go for the GTI and bought a 57 plate with 6,000 miles in Reflex Silver.

Spec:

5 Dr DSG
Full Leather
MFSW with highline
Sat Nav (MFD2 unfortunately but oh well) with 6 CD changer in Armrest
Xenons
Lux Pack
Winter Pack
Sun Roof
Cruise

and also comes with a tracker just for good measures

So basically fully loaded.

I can't wait!!

I kept thinking if I get a GTI then I will always wish I had got the Ed30 but as the spec is pretty big on the one im getting I think im going to be more than happy.

I could always get a remap for more power if I feel the need I suppose

It was up for £22,995 but I negotiated £800 off as I went armed with tons of adverts, PCP quotes etc. I probably still paid too much people will no doubt tell me but im happy now!

Bought the misses a 55 reg Polo while we there as well and managed to get that on a 2 year PCP at £100 p.m. Bargain... that will keep her quiet for a bit!

Until some little scroate keys it just like my Type-R I had (nice 'smile' shape on the bonnet) and the Vauxhall Ashtray I traded in for the Golf (nice long scratch down the nearside rear wing and door). If it happens again I think I will either 1) Sob uncontrollably or 2) Commit a murder

I was worried when I got my GTI, when I insured the car with Direct Line the policy included vandalism cover.

The good thing about a silver GTI is that it just blends in very easily and doesn't stand out when it's parked up.
