Newbie with some questions .
« on: 11 August 2008, 10:29 »
Hi folks
first of all this looks like a great forum, at the moment i'm selling my hyundai coupe and getting the deal of a lifetime on a black  10month old gt sport tdi 2.0 140bhp  for 10,000. however there are a few things i would like to change. i would love my ipod to work via the stereo, is this possible is there an aux in i can use and hide the wire, arm rest i would love one of these as my coupe has it and i got used to one . where can i get one?  the only thing wrong with the car is the rear bumper has a hole in the the vinly bit and i will need to replace it, i want to make it colour coded as per rest of bumper any one know good sites for this or recommend one they have fitted, cruise control , is there much to retro fitting as this is a god send. last but not least i prefer the gti grill can these be bought along with the same grill for the fogs, also does anyone have rear smoked lights and where did you buy them from?

sorry for all the qs.

thank you in advance

Hi and welcome Rugby mad
Cruise control can be retro fitted by your dealer quite easily.Stevep will help you with your ipod connection, as far ar the hole in the bumper can you post a picture of this, im sure it can be plastic welded, as for the GTI front end some one on here recently did this and did a good write up but this might of been erased when the site went down his name was cosworthlee i believe.you could pm him after 10 post's on here. good luck.

Welcome to the forum Steph

Nothing like making a few changes to a new car eh!

I agree with all that TC has already said and just to add a few more details

Cruise costs £150 through the dealer network. If you are any good with fitting parts yourself this can be bought for less and activated by VAGCOM (VAGCOM is a PC based system with a special lead that guys throughout the country use to change settings in their cars)

There are a few options for iPOD connections, but I would avoid having the VW version retro-fitted as it is pants!

I'm guessing that the hole in your bumper is the removable panel that covers the tow eye fitting?!? :undecided: in which case the VW dealership will supply for a nominally small price.

Quite a few companies sell the smoked rear lights Awesome gti sell original R32 rear clusters at £165 +VAT.

Regarding the GTI grill. This can be bought off fleabay and there are also online companies like oemplus who sell them (American based).

Hope this helps.
