Hi Charles,

I'm the guy who introduced TTshop to you. I'm also the UK customer who bought your badges via oempl.us - I bought the very last rear badge!

Hello
Robin

It has been awhile since we talked.
I am glad you like your emblems.
We take pride in our work and use only the highest quality resin,Carbon fiber,Clear.
I want to thank you for going out of your way to get this going.
The pictures i have up are probably your car.
Again thank you for all that you have done. And i am sorry i was not in here sooner.

Hi Charles, thanks for the info, your products do look first class

RedRobin, Also thanks again for your input to this GB.

Could you answer a couple of questions so we can all be clear as to whats involved and the full costs etc?

With the rear badge what parts makes up the core, is it the whole rear lock mech or the black disc that the badge sits on top of?

Also are there any issue using the car/accessing the boot without the core while the badges are being produced?

With the front's are the options to either supply the core and pay the shipping to the US via the TTShop or purchase a new core @ £29?

....To answer your quezzies, SteveP : -

- Rear: Taking care not to bend the core (important), remove stock VW badge which will leave black disc core which keeps your boot lock functional.

- Front: Either add £29 to recieve CF badge already bonded to core, or just send core.

What's important to get the GB discount and stop the shipping costs etc racking up, is to get your front cores into TTshop all within a day or two of each other - We can coordinate that from this thread further down the line.

Not yet, but TTshop will want a £30 deposit for each order (irrespective of just front or just rear).

Again, sorry it's not that simple, but I expect everyone can now see what's involved! We're all trying to achieve a Win-Win where you get some cool carbonfibre VW badges at a special price and the manufacturer and distributor still make a profit.

 :embarassed:

I seem to be a little confused as to exactly whats involved / price, despite RR's extensive explanations, sorrrry!

Is this correct:

- Both a front and back badge is £58 each, however, one needs to supply the "core" from the our car. Therefore I could either send in my front badge myself or buy a new one for £29.

This is where I am a bit confused. What about the rear? Can I just buy a rear badge for £29 as well, or is that where I would need to buy the whole mechanism, because I haven't even got my car yet! lol How much is that?

So a total price would be:

£116 (x2 badges F/R)
£29 (for a new front badge)
£? (for a new rear badge)

Does that make any sense, please could someone enlighten me!

or is it the black bit that the badge sits on?? so if the badge is the "core" then why do they need the original badge??

I agree for the front, it sounds like the black plastic bit the chrome badge clips onto (the part which fit's into the grill).

For the rear I still haven't got a clue what the core refers to.

I presume they need the "core" to bond the new badge onto as they don't just clip into place in the same way as the original chrome one.

It would be good if Charles from CarbonDynamics could post some pics to clear this one us.
