thanks for the hard work thus far RR, based on those costs i will probably just go with the front i think, the missus will kill me i go for the back aswell (supposed to be going on holiday in a few weeks!) will have a definate for you when the buy back for the cores is sorted

Thanks RR for all your efforts, I have too many other mods I would prefer to put my money into just now, Revo, Sportline springs, forge DV, ferodo front pads or similar...also have to get my bonnet resprayed  Have about a grand to fork out at the moment if I want to keep tinkering.

Still would like a black front badge though...doesn't have to be CF, is ebay the place? anyone?

Golly! I too think ill have to pass on the badges at that cost! Thanks RR for the effort but I think ill just have to spray my own badges black and settle with that unless i win the lottery! lol

....Sorry about the costs guys. Carbonfibre was never going to be cheap and the cost levels are similar to what I paid for mine taking into account the likely buy-back prices.

Joe - Did you get anywhere with your attempts with Carbon Dynamics to get a better price on the carbon ones?

LATEST NEWS:

- TTS have just been on the phone to me and are trying to get the costs further reduced.

- They are also wanting to do a test shipment and therefore may then have some stock in the future.

- Their supplier has found that buying back cores simply isn't viable, but would be able to give a How-To remove your rear badges. TTS are looking into whether they can help by buying back a few cores but it obviously has to be cost viable.

Sorry it's all a bit complicated but it's a combination of factors and a first run. I'll naturally keep you posted Justin at TTS is trying very hard to accomodate us as anyone who has already met him would realise.

ive been intouch with them about 3 or 4 times. this was one email :

 We were wondering where all the traffic from the UK was coming from.

We have had a lot of interest from the UK in the last 3 months.

The rear emblem on the MKV must be sent to us.The dealer charges $200 for the core and it  includes the whole mechanism.Also at the same time you could send the front emblem with the rear emblem the front factory VW emblem is $35.

I will get you a price on 20 front and 20 rear emblems.

so its not looking good from them either. I think im just going to get the rear painted as theres no way id pay over 300 for 2 vw badges, no matter how cool or good quality. its nearly the price of a millteck cat back.
