Is the diverter valve or dv known under any other name?  I have rang about 4 different garages, including 2 vw dealers in Northern Ireland and none have heard of either.

.... That's plain stoooopid!! They simply don't deserve to represent VW. I would complain to VW UK (or equivalent in NI).

I remember having the same problem trying to tell the parts guy at vw that i wanted a dv for my mk4.  Eventually I showed him what it was on a diagram.  The official name turned out to be something like a bypass valve  :undecided:

....Well, my VW dealer knows what I mean when I say Diverter Valve. I've even seen it called that on some VW documents.

Doesn't matter what it's called, I gave you the part number

However as you are concerned, it's called a 'Cut Off Valve' - They still won't have a clue what you're talking about though.

It's actually called a Recirculating Valve - but the part no should have bought it up on ETKA.

Is there really any such thing as a "good" VW stealer?

They do call it a Cut Off Valve these days TT  :nerd:

Dunno why they have to keep changing the names of these things.  :undecided:

The same thing happened to me after getting a Revo map,ran great for 2 days then total loss of power when on boost.first i thought it was the forge D.V but it was ok,then i booked into VW and they said it had a bad misfire on piston 2 so they changed no.2 injector and the fault was still there. After a week at the dealers it ended up being the ecu which was replaced under warranty.

....Have you gone back to a Revo remap?

Sounds as if you were lucky getting a new ECU under warranty when you had remapped the original one!

Did the Revo tuner you used, firstly check your car for status/faults, then use a rolling-road and also finally drive it with a laptop attached?

hey, sorry for the late reply, ive been in ibiza for abit

my problem: took to awesome and put in on the rollers and only ran 200bhp, took it back to awesome afterwards for a diagnostics and found then my hoses around the dv had spit and was loosing 8psi of boost. so changed the hoses and ran it againg and its then ran 230bhp......still down . so back to awesome for diagnostics and vagcom had no faults and also no leaks under the hood but we did find that the car was not boosting past 4900rpm, so called up the re-map guys and they sent somebody up to have a check of the car, he took off the map and re-applyed a (in his words) "more aggressive map."
took the car out and its sorted, i knew it was mended once i hit the fast pedal!!!! just need to get on the rollers now,

anybody facy a small do at awesome
