Just had mine changed at local garage £250 and that was genuine parts and the water pump. Think the pump is about £40 and the belt and tensioner kit is about £88. VW did quote £299 for cambelt change and £366 for cambelt and water pump.

check your service history if you have it.

Should be documentated with tick boxes in the service shedule!

Ive just ticked over 50k and ive got the service in 1200 miles come up.
Rang up my local dealers and they said £99 for the service. I think its just an oil change.
Have already had cambelt and water pump done at 40k.
I though 99 quid isnt that bad tbh.

Hi All,

I charge £260 for Cam Belt Kit, Waterpump, Ribbed Belt and coolant fitted.
That is using O.E.M Parts.
With a 60k Serive, which includes Oil, Oil Filter and Pollen filter change using genuine parts it would Be £350.
Dealers tend to charge around 3 - 3.5 hours (£90 - 100 per hour plus parts )
Most specialists should be a bit cheaper than the dealers.
Best Regards,
Jochen.
