WD40 on Oil

My brother in law and I just serviced my car in the rain  and the numpty when he undone the sump plug didn't have the oil pan in the right place so ofc oil all over the drive... now I sprayed some WD40 over a bit of the oil while cleaning the sump plug and the oil rainbow that was on the floor disappeared when the WD40 touched it, so I tried on another oil rainbow and again it disappeared.

So does WD40 get rid of oil or just mask it?

kind of dilutes it. I use it to clean off the sump plug when going an oil change.

pressure washer should shift the oil on your drive but then you end up with lighter patches and then need to do the whole lot. long

washin powder will soke some of it up?

Well it's on a slope and I just went out to park the car up properly and it's started running downwards into my neighbours fence   I still put some wet sand over it and sprayed some more WD40, hopefully it will dissipate and run into his yard  

Is there anything else that help get rid of oil easier? I don't have a pressure washer unfortunately   I'll see if my hose can reach that far tomorrow and try blast it off with that.

We only use the liquid stuff that goes in a ball inside the washing machine  But I'll make sure I get some for next time

gunk is apparently quite good you can buy it especially for drives. also cat litter will help soak it up if theres allot of it.

I've got cat litter but it's the Catsan stuff and it's not fine enough, it's more like little stones than sand

Washing up liquid will remove alot of it. But you need to scrub it in with a stiff brush.

yeah, washing up liquid, its great at dissolving and removing oil. if it runs off onto the grass, all the worms will come up and you will kill them with the soapy residue. think of the worms!
pour some petrol on it, and set it on fire, that would work also.
