i rebored the bores be for i put the piston s in an i sent the head off to get my stem seals in the engine has done about 130000 but i have put new clocks in last year so cant remember.. dont know what to do?
When you say you rebored the bores, what exactly did you do? Did you just take the glaze of the walls or did you actually remove material? Did you gap the rings properly? What did you do with the valve guide seals? Are your valve guides in good condition? All of these are a factor as to what causes smoking.
If you took out too much material when you 'rebored', the pistons will be a slack fit, you would loose compression, loose power, and, yup, she would smoke, but all the time, not just after she has stood still. You would also get crankcase compression which would force oil vapours into the breathing system which will cause smoking, but again all the time.
Your syptoms indicate valve guides or seals or both.
Or you could be over fuelling. That would cause similar symptoms, but you will also get a strong exhaust fume smell. And the smoke will be black.
