Cosmetic Mods
« on: 07 August 2008, 15:22 »
Being bored at work my mind is wondering as expected and I would be grateful for people's opinions!

When I eventually take delivery of my Pirelli in Sept/Oct I have a small list of minor changes to make. These include:

1.   Black front/rear VW badges (the car is Diamond Black)

2.   Change the puddle light bulbs to a more white effect bulb.

3.   Possibly change the mirror indicator lenses to smoked ones.

4.   Swap the grill around the number plate to a Carbon Fibre one. Much like RedRobin and joesgti
though theres a cheaper version on ebay which will do for now (dunno the name of the item itself) rather than
the expensive one RR has. Though i believe they look pretty similar?

5.   Put some cheeky golfgti.co.uk inside window stickers in the rear two windows (already ordered).

6.   Just bought a pair of the seat adjustment handle GTI aluminium plates off ebay.
Saw a thread on here about them. Awaiting those in the post.

7.   Swap over some new sidelight bulbs that are white not yellow
(iv got xenons so no need to change the main lights).

Now, since im new to having a car I want to actually spend money on, are there any other relatively cheap cosmetic 'enhancements' I haven't mentioned / don't know about / you think will look good? Any suggestions under £200 welcome!

Hurdy, where can you get the red GTI front? I think that would like smart on my black one. Had a look on ebay but no joy.

Last time i looked on fleabay the red grill badges were going for around £50. Not very cheap, but do look good on a black GTi.

Here's a link if anyone has a spare wedge of cash
