Is it a Rattle or a Knocking sound?

I had this problem in mine.  Mine was def down to those little balls that pull the parcel shelf up when you open the boot.  They are taped to the underside of the shelf at the moment until i can think of something better...

The balls werent the answer, but strangley the sound seems to have stopped now!

I guess it mat have been something around the heat shield, like a stone perhaps, that has now dislodged itself.

I wonder if the Seat may have somthing to do with it? Mine is still knocking (and really pissing me off ) I have tried everything!

Indublin, I have been driven mad by the rattles, if its the rear seat rattleing it could be the seat latch. I had mine replaced under warranty but the rattle returned. My fix was to get some heavy duty tape, put the seat down and wrap some around the metal loop the seat latchs too. Give the seat a good slam closing, I have not had and rattles from there since.

I will try this.... after I get out of hospital (Granegorman) in here for a few days coz there is somone in my boot trying to tell me somthing about an alien attack
