Looking to travel to kings lynn next week to pick up the next part of the project.

A Vr6 OBD2 engine with 77,000 miles. With gearbox, loom, subframe, ecu, pedal box, all clutch clyinders, pipes, exhaust manifold.

Pretty much my full conversion bar the rad and exhaust system.

So i now have a VR6 to put into my 8v.

This isnt going to be a quick conversion, as i plan to do it right first time.

I have bought a OBD1 Coilpack VR6 with 62k on the clocks.

Today i removed the suspension, brake calipers, and disconnected the driveshafts and engine mounts and draged the subframe and rack off. As i dont require any of this.

Plan is to now change the clutch, chains, aux belt, filters, plugs, leads etc.

As its a 2.8 OBD1 i plan to get a Rado 2.9 inlet manifold and throttle body, for a bit of extra power, i want the TB painted black, and the inlet chromed.

Going to paint the engine and box oem factory colours, and get the front cross member powerdercoated black.

I will be ordering a 6branch manifold, decat, and having a full stainless 2.5inch exhaust from the decat backwards. To allow for further engine mods.

Air filter wise i plan a BMC inclosed jobbie.

For the bay i just plan to clean it up, polish it, and hide as many wires as possible.

Parts i still need to get are:

Full set of coolant hoses
Radiator
Clutch pipe from work gearbox too pedals, with both cylinders.
Exhaust parts
Service bits n bobs.

Ive also as yet got to send the ECU to be de-imobilised.

Its a crossover VR engine, but has the later plastic engine cover, rather than metal, and coilpack, so thats all that matters to me really, as i will be upgrading to the rado tb :)

Once its in and running, fingers crossed, i might think about supercharging it, but thats long off as yet.

Having an arse of a day, not so much an update thread.

Turns out that i have noticed the rocker cover is broken, think it must of got broken when moving the engine, and it has snapped off where a pipe from the air intake fixes too the rocker cover. So thats another thing to add to the list.

Parts i need to gather now are:

Full coolant hoses
Rocker Cover (plastic obd2 type)
Full clutch set up from gearbox to pedals
Radiator + Fans brackets etc.
Chains, guides etc
Clutch itself will need to be replaced.
There is also countless other pipes that need to be replaced as they are cut
Throttle cable
Full exhaust system
cat/decat whatever
Ecu deimobilised
Air filter/bmc/something
Also want to remove the aircon pump and change belt to suit

URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

This weekend the car gets treated, as i havnt really been cleaning it and keeping it shiny since ed38 and the end of summer.

So i plan to give it a propper detail session and wax up for the first part of the winter.

Also plan to get started on undersealing the car whilst its dry.

As for the VR6, not next week but the week after i am off work, and going to carry out:

Completly degrease the engine and gear box, paint the block black, head silver, and gearbox a dark grey.
Replace chains tensioners and guides
Replace clutch with a sachs clutch
Change rocker cover to powder coated item
Replace plugs, filters etc etc.

Inlet is still to be refitted as i want it changed, but thats on the back burner.

Also painting the TB black at some point in this time period to refit.

Have some special plans for the powder coating of the rocker, trims and generally the colour theme.
