;) Not a jot to worry about. Had my GTTdi 115 for 8 months nowand no significant prob's, just minor niggles down to the odd flaw in build quality, eg; lovely red immobiliser light next to lock pin disappearing into the door.

Makes the most of the torque and you can worry some much quicker motors on A roads. I am however on a quest for a 'bit more' so am exploring chipping options. It is cheaper to buy @ 115 and chip to 150 than it is to buy a 150 by a long way, and I am reliably informed that this will not be detremental to the engine. Plus you get a nice 6 speed box. And nice mpg!!

A thought, look for a traded in 1 owner import at a dealers, you'll save ?1500+ (esp' if its not even on the forecourt and you don't bring a trade in), you'll get a v well spec'd car, I've got air-con AND an elec' glass roof, plus a years warranty and VW roadside assist. That's what I did and its worth it in the short term ie your pocket. Just don't be too picky re; colour. Mines Cosmic Green. Its grown on me!! It really is a matter of phoning the dealers every day and several times per day. It'll also probably have a full history. Mine was a 2001 car with 23000 warranted on the clock. Lovely.

Good hunting. I'll never buy petrol again unless i get 6 numbers on a sat' night. Make sure its a PDi unit though.

130bhp and 150bhp are pump duse (PD) units,

i think the 115bhp is a non pD unit. benefit of PD ismore power.

have a nice day

 ;) Nah nah,

115 is a PD unit 2001+ as mine is. Fab' motors. Just looked at a thread for East Coast ( i think, had a few beers ) to push it to 137bhp for under ?400 so might hit the credit card. Tell ya what, i can seriously worry my old man's Civic Jordan V Tech!!

You can chip the 1.8 to 137bhp with Upsolute.  ;D  Seriously considering that.

All TDI 100, 115, 130 and 150 Golf models have PD engines

How to tell if a TDI is PD? It will have 6 gears whereas the 90 and 110 TDI models have only 5 gears (not sure what the 100 PD TDI has but all the other PD models are 6 spd)
