Headrest embroidery
« on: 06 August 2008, 13:46 »
Anyone had the GTI logo embroidered in the headrests over the original embossed logos?

Thinking about having it done in red, but need a decent contact who could do it.

Anyone?

I've been looking at gettin this done for a while but most won't touch it and the one's that will say they will want to replace all of the leather in the process  You can imagine the cost!

MarkyMark has a contact who may be able to do it, just waiting for him to get back from Spain

Thinking about replacing some of the leather interior too anyway

Click on the link below and look at their "Technical surface range" they do a carbon effect leather for cars. Don't know if they do different colours yet though.

Hmmm,

Nothing major though. I fancy doing the door cards, centre armrest, gearstick, headrests and handbrake. Preferably in carbon silver or dark red . If they only do black, then probably not worth it :undecided:

Hello Hurdy

Funny you should bring this up. My mom recently did embroidery for BMW. Also on the headrests etc an it was quite a mission.

The leather has to be taken apart and resown after the embroidery so make sure you get a decent company or local forum member who has high work standards to do it.

Did Dan not get back to you regarding this? I know he can get the Carbon effect leather as ive seen some of his work in this. Check this link to see his work http://www.no-rice.com/forum2/showthread.php?tid=358 he can do pretty much anything you want.
I asked him about embroidering headrests etc which he can get done but the initial set up is £100 so if enough people want it the price will come down drastically.
