Alloy Wheel Touch Up Paint
« on: 03 August 2008, 14:32 »
To cut a long story short, my wife, after complaining that she never gets to drive the car, took it out and managed to mark one of the alloy wheels!

It's nothing serious but I like to keep them looking spotless, and after a bit of a search found some touch up paint on eBay (http://tinyurl.com/6osbqr)

Has anyone used a product like this?

the only way that's going to work is if the silver is the exact same shade. How bad is the kerbing? if it's chunks out the wheel you might have to get them filled, but if they're light they can be filed/sanded out then painted.

£20-30 will get you one professionally refurbed though, and the finish will last longer than if you do it yourself.

It's a very small scruff, not a chunk exactly, probably a centimetre long, it in no way deserves a full refurb.

Come to think of it my boss is getting a guy from Chips Away round to see to some scratches on his Range Rover so I may just get him to touch them up.
