....Reversing sensors are invaluable due to poor rear visibilty. Got mine as aftermarket cos I didn't think I would want them. Beeping isn't over intrusive at all.

Poor rear visibility?? The bumper sticks out about 3'' from the rear tailgate, how hard can it be?? I've driven plenty of cars with poor rear visibility and the Golf isn't one of them.

Just my opinion but I don't like parking sensors (or Girly parking sensors as I refer to them at work if a chap wants to order some!! )

To be fair though RR is knocking on a bit and if you look he has got some old sticker's blocking his view.  :smug:

....^

I don't really care what anyone else thinks - I know I'm not a 'girl' and my sensors are also very useful for any obstacles slightly to the rear sides and kerbs etc.

whats cheaper the parking sensors or the rear end rebuild after youve backed into some thing, id even have them on front if possable (i have them on my espace driving is a lot less stressful, they dont stop t w a t s driving into you and buggering off though   even the most basic tom tom is better than the vw navi. go aftermarket much better value for money.

Fully agree, I have a TomTom One that does everything I need to get me around the UK and Europe. Cost just over £100 and fits in my pocket when I leave the car.

i just hope greenouse, you dont hit one day you dont reverse into a low pole in the ground in say a carpark that your eyes didnt see, and the parking sensors would have. people should not be discriminated against cus of their age or what sex they are.

It's my opinion Phil, and I happen to not like Parking sensors and feel they are not needed in a small hatchback. If I happen to reverse into a concrete bollard that's my problem, but I won't rush out to buy a car with P/Sensors in the same way i wouldn't rush out and buy a car with lane detection if I hit a motorway barrier. And as for sexual discrimination................. do me a favour mate, we not allowed to have a laff on here any more??? There's ALOT worse said on here which seems to go by unoticed and I'd hardly say 'Girly Parking sensors' is discriminate!

I don't see the point in paying for parking sensors on such a small car.

Erm . . . wait until you get arthritus in your neck, and you'll soon be eating those words!  And as for "winding your neck in" - that will just be too painful to even contemplate!
