use WagenWheels in Southampton. (www wagenwheels.co.uk).

he is an enthusiast who deals mainly with mk1s, but does mk2s also. he is superb.

he will do any job you want, from basic servicing, to track day preps, to full restorations. the bits he cant do he ships the car/parts out to people who can help.

not the cheapest, not the most expensive either but a true class act.

No my new car turns up mid May so as soon as it turns up I am going to put the golf on a trailer and get it sent to one of the garages that have been recommend to me and get the ball rolling. If I get some time I hope to get to some rallys and events and meet up with some of you and show off the Golf.

On a separate matter what is the best way to get some more BHP out of the engine. There is 2 angles I am looking at one is just do some tweaking the other is to drop an Audi S3 1.8 20VT engine into the car

Any ideas guys

they are very good engines, but i dont like the turbo lag.

if i was you mate i would go for the g60 conversion, its great for golfs chief. ;)

ian is a good laugh. see if you can get a cup of tea off him if you down there though :)

as far as i know he should be at Inters. He'll be the only one with an unmodified car on a stand.

Yeah Wagenwheels is the way to go if it's not too far to travel, poor old Ian is flat out at the moment trying to get several customers cars ready for inters.

Tin do you get down there much?
