Newbie wanting to join the club!!!!!!!!!!
« on: 24 May 2008, 20:24 »
hi all, i need help!!!!!!!   like many ppl ive been lurking in the background for a while reading posts etc!! absolute top forum by the way, and it has made my decision to buy a golf gti so much easier!!!  ive been looking for a few weeks for the car i want, with the spec i want, within my price range. i was goin to just post on the "wanted" forum but i thought id introduce myself and that this would be a better channel for me to widen the net!!! anyway im after a grey or white mk5 gti 3dr. ive decided on those colours only!! 1st choice probs grey  manual, preferably leather interior, preferably 18"monzas. less than 30000 miles and under £15000. im in the north east area but i will travel to view the right car!!! so if any1 comes across such a car im interested!! obviously im checking autotrader/pistonheads etc daily but nothing solid as of yet.....................!! any help appreciated!!!

thanks

Hi Pitman4u and welcome.

You will love the GTI, I'm sure. I traded in an Audi S4 for mine!

Look forward to seeing some pics of yours when you get sorted.

Hello

Good luck finding the car you want.  Not sure if your price is a tiny bit under for a car like you want - I thought most the 3year old GTI's under 15k miles tended to have a few more miles on than that

For your information I bought mine for £14,500 (was up for £15,000) from a dealer. 05 plate with 6 CD changer, sunroof and winter pack as the only options (so no xenon's or 18''s). Yes, you pay a little more when buying from a dealer so you might be lucky finding a private one with the extra options you want.

Happy hunting !

thanks for the comments guys, hopefully within the next month or so ill be a fully fledged member!! i went to view a grey gti at a garage yesterday for £14659.had 19900 miles dsg not leather with 18" monzas.however the monzas were very badly scuffed and all needed repairing which made me think twice.also im unsure i could get used to the dsg aswell!!! although i have heard nothing but good comments about it! i also saw a white one that was a little out of my price range, but seeing this colour in the flesh looks amazing! im torn!!! anyway the search continues.

watch this space..........................................
