So what products do you use to detail your GTI ?

Apologies if its posted in the wrong place Hurdy, but as I dont go anywhere else I thought I'd just post and see if I could get away with it   

Ok so here's the list of the products I use regularly to clean my beast, I haven't put my technique here as it'll bore most people to tears!! A weekly clean takes me about 4 hours.

Meguairs soft wash gel (weekly)
Hot Rims wheel cleaner (weekly)
Meguairs Quik Detailer and Clay bar, (6 monthly routine)
Paint Cleanser     Stage 1, (6 monthly)
Polish                Stage 2 (6 monthly)

NXT 2 Tech wax, (weekly/bi-weekly depending on the weather)
Klass high gloss sealant glaze
P21S carnuba wax

Poorboys World wheel sealant (on 182's recommendation)
Megs gold class trim detailer
AG glass cleaner
Rain X
Megs endurance tyre shine
Gold class leather cleaner/conditioner
Megs professional Vinyl cleaner conditioner 40
AG Autofresh

Megs water magnet
Applicator pads
Microfibre cloths

Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on bettering these products results? 

I'd be interested to see what you lot use on yours

at a very very quick glance i would probably swop the water magnets (or are you using a new version)

They work ok but I need 2 to fully dry the GTI even after using the open ended hose to "sheet off" water.

I like the look of your recommended towels and may have to invest in a few to try them out!

yeh, those magnets are not as good as some of the newer stuff, i like the sonus ones, but as i said they dont like machine wash, and need to be hand washed to work ok (guess its the heat)

like you i push the water of with an open stream of water (although i do have a water filter too) and the use two towels and dab the water off, this way you minimise swirls and marks etc

i used to use the megs magnet but switched to the sonus as it was far better imo.

hmm, I machine wash my Sonus drying towels at 40C with any long term issues...

dont think so, you dont use fabric softener do you ?, all i found when machine washing is it didnt dry the car as well, i hand washed it and all was well again

snow foam whole car then two bucket method to wash using swissvax shampoo
dry with cobra guzzler and leaf blower
after every third wash i apply a layer of swissvax best of show
the same on my espace but that has zyol titanium
all wheels with weak megs wheel brightener and coated in swissvax wheel wax

Sonus towels are very good, I have tried the Meg's water magnet, and the Sonus is so much better!
