VAG COM needed
« on: 24 May 2008, 01:04 »
Hi all lost the turbo on my gt tdi last week. Been told i need to do a vac com to bring up a fault code.

Vw have quoted £100 to do this

i read a lot of people using vac com, surley you dont all pay £100 each time?

just thought id ask, as it looks like im gna have to pay it to find the fault, but just cant believe its gna cost that much for im reality sod all work!?

think its the n75 valve, and maby intercooler and valves just need a good clean out?

What ever you do Dont pay £100!!! Bloody dealers

To get vag com is about £200 IIRC and you need a laptop.

Find some one from on here who lives near you with vag com who will do it for some beer tokens.

Or get one of these not a patch on vag com but will read fault codes and clear them:

hi i dont think im near any of you? im colchester in essex!

theres no way im paying £100! my mate is a ford technitian, so may be able to read it as the galaxie used the same engine!

got a feeling its the n75 (?) valve? bit vague to me as ive only ever played with my rs turbos and cosworth. not used to all the tdi stuff!

if anyone is near id be happy to buy a good drink for your troubles.

thanks
