need something to prove my alarm for insurance

hi i have just got a very good quote for my car insurance from hic but i need 2 find a garage that fits alarms in cambridge way that will write me something to prove my car has a clifford concept 650 alarm as i dont have a certificate anyone know of any where i can go? thanx

yar, the big car parts/car audio place on the junction of newmarket road and east road in central cambridge.

they can do some sort of alarm inspection thing and provide a certificate. well, they could when i had a similar issue a while back.

is that a1 you are talking about if it is ive phoned them and they wont do it coz they wont do clifford!

um, think the shop is called 'discount auto parts' but i wouldn't bet too much on that!

yeah that is the place they said they dont do clifford anymore so they wouldnt do it! thanx 4 the number i will give them a ring

yeah it was A1/discount auto parts who did that for me many moons ago when i had i similar problem on a series one escort rs turbo  :smiley:

Have you been asked to send a copy of your instalation cert then? usually they only ask you to produce it if the car gets stolen (so obviously you will still wanna get one).

hi yeah they said they would need proof of it having the alarm for it to be insured against theft with my last insurance company i just sent them a note from the local garge which said it had it on think u might know them wenden garage? but have been told by hic it needs to b from someone that insalls alarms? oh i think u might know my boyfriend kev thomas had the vectra? thanx

just phoned D & K Auto Electrical Services in newport and they said they could do it so hopefully that will be ok?

Yeah i know Wendon garage well, Russ & Dave are both top blokes, do all my mots there!

not great at remembering surnames, Kev who used to live in Elmdon?

as long as they can write you out a cert or something confirming that the alarm is thatcham approved it should be fine, let me know if you have any problems though
