Immobiliser???

Does anyone know if factory immobiliser where fitted to the 1994 8v GTI? if so which wires do i cut :laugh: :shocked:
im have major problems getting car to start, i can turn my key and ill get no power to anything on dash but can hear fuel pump priming and get a click from the fuse box area but car will turn over as if it wants to start, others times dash will light up with all the normal lights  pump primes and get the clicking sound from fuse box but car wont turn over, if any one can help that would be great

you sure thats the immobiliser? ?  Mine cuts the fuel pump!  the car will start but cuts out as the fuel pump doesnt run

im just going through process of limitation at the min ie new relays, HT leads and spark plugs, im not even sure i have a immobiliser on car, if there is no immobiliser can anyone suggest anything else that could cause this to happen

no you would get dash lights if its the starter.   its a bit odd.  probably just a loose wire or something but i cant think what it could be at the moment.

i was thinking starter motor as well i think that will possible be next thing to replace. just out of interest a worn key would that cause any problems in the ignition barrel at all?
