I belive it comes on with the ABS light to show certain ABS Faults.. is the ABS light on and does it work?

Also check the conector and the fluid level sensor on the top of the fluid bottle.

ahh they do that to get it through MOT.

Basicly its had a fault all along and now its got another fault causing the handbrake light to show as well. If you put a bulb in you will find they are both on together.   I think its trying to tell you multiple sensors are faulty or something.  Some one else will give you more info on that one.

Best bet is to get it hooked up to vag com to see if it is throwing up any fault codes which it will almost certainly if there is a abs problem.

Use a multi meter to test the resistance of each sensor, its what i done, and i found the faulty sensors and repalced them, problem solved.

But remember the light may stay on for a few miles when fixed.

Also try wire brush cleaning the disc with holes in that spins to get the speed off.

must have a faulty sensor somewhere.
