Cheers, I suppose I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the warranty update to the software - eg what it fixed or adjusted?

This exact same thing happened to me. When i was at 20K it said 2000 miles to service, and then the following day it tells me SERVICE NOW.

Mine is on a long life services (its an 05 model) its due a service after 2 years or 20k (which I had last march, as in March 07). Its next service is due in March 09 or If i get to 40k before then, which I probably will do.

Hope this helps.

I guess it's not possible to plug a laptop in and see what it's actually saying in there? Wouldn't it be good if the GTi had wireless and appeared on the home network as another device that you could browse to :)

I doubt it, that would be too easy and mean that we wouldn't have to go to VW and spent £xx on them doing a diagnostics.
