« on: 21 May 2008, 14:24 »
does any one know if the European spec/ German for the ED 30 is any different to the UK spec, Ive been talking to motor point they have ED30 5 door new at £19.999 but its import from Germany , can purchase extra years warranty £300. so would be on the road £20750, !! also can front arm rests be retro fitted as none fitted to this motor.i know resale value will be affected but i intend to keep.

Only differences are the built-in machine guns, revolving numbers plates and ejector seats.

Thats not a 3rd year manufacturers warranty though is it ... just something to bear in mind as cover is not always the same.

Apart from that I dont think on the later cars there was any difference, some early GTi's MP had only had Air-Con not climate.

there are quite a few ed30  factory built units available, have a look on vw's website vehicle search. i presume the import is a pre built one now aswell?

Resale will be affected coz it's a euro import (just has a stigma attached)...
but also, VW UK have said they are issuing UK Ed30s with Ltd Ed numbers now, I don't think this includes euro cars... this may have an effect on resale too as someone _may_ pay more for a proper UK numbered car.
